Sandpiper Juniors 2012-2013
Over 50 years of touching lives in the community

President's Message

We are honored to lead Sandpiper Juniors as your 2012-13 Co-Presidents.  It is a privilege to be part of an organization that provides thousands of hours of service and thousands of dollars of philanthropic support to our South Bay community each year. We respect the busy lives of our members who often juggle academics, sports, art, music, family and friends with the service and dedication this organization requires. We hope to build on the 50+ year legacy of Sandpiper Juniors with the help of an energized Executive Board and a general membership dedicated to giving back to the community.

This year we hope that the organization will advance and evolve in many ways.  We will be emphasizing the importance of communication and collaboration.  We have moved our paper membership process to an electronic one to better serve our members and our environment.  Improved records systems with additional detail and information will also be available on our website.

We are grateful to Sandpipers, in particular our advisors for their guidance and support.  We also thank those organizations that embrace our efforts and allow Sandpiper Juniors to support their altruistic activities.  Our Executive Board has already shown enthusiasm and teamwork as we strive to bring positive change to an organization with a long and rich history.  We pledge to work tirelessly to make an impact on our community and to reaffirm our member’s dedication to service.

History of Philanthropy:

Sandpiper Juniors is a division of Sandpipers. It is a volunteer organization dedicated to encouraging high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors from the South Bay to better their community, and the lives of others less fortunate, through charitable and philanthropic programs.

"As we watch the busy

sandpiper along the shoreline, industriously searching out its daily bread, we see its tiny footprints washed away by the waves of the sea, leaving no trace of its day's work. But, you Sandpipers have left indelible footprints throughout the South Bay. The splashing waves of time are unable to erase the effects of your tireless deeds. The hearts you have touched will forever remember the gentle hands and assuring words spoken by Sandpipers in a time of need..."
