Girls inspiring
change…
Whether it be directly contributing to the fight against hunger or helping the community through wrapping presents for shoppers…
…here are just a few examples of how Sandpiper Juniors help make a difference.
Meals For Many
Sandpiper Juniors help out with an initiative focused on fighting food insecurity by bringing people together to pack nutritious meals for those in need. Working together, we efficiently assemble and package food that will be distributed to individuals and families facing hunger.
By turning service into a hands-on experience, Meals for Many empowers the community to make a tangible difference in addressing hunger.
“Sandpipers gave me an opportunity to get hands-on experience helping the RichStone Center. One day a little girl asked me to read a short picture book with her. This special moment warmed my heart. Being able to help her, along with others, understand what they were reading was something I will forever cherish.”
- Sloane (Sophomore)
Holiday Gift Wrapping
Holiday Gift Wrapping is a festive communitive service and fundraising initiative where the girls volunteer their time to help wrap presents for shoppers during the holiday season. Hosted at the Manhattan Beach Village Mall, this event provides a convenient service for famlies while spreading holiday cheer throughout the community.
Most importantly, this event creates a warm, joyful atmosphere, bringing smiles to shoppers’ faces and allowing volunteers to make a positive impact during the holidays.
Love Joy
Lovejoy is a dog and puppy home that focuses on finding new families for the animals by holding weekly adoption events. Volunteers will help with getting the dogs ready for adoption, tending to their needs, and assisting in the adoption process on weekends. It is such a rewarding program and is a fantastic way to help out in the community and take care of some really cute dogs!
Sandpipers
Our members also contribute to events run by the larger Sandpipers non-profit, including:
Summer Arts Program
Holiday Home Tours
Sugar Plum gift drive

“We had one social where we told funny embarrassing stories and I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard as I did then with people I had just met. We had pizza and cupcakes and I got to meet some pretty cool people from different grades and schools.. ”

Socials
The socials each month are a time where sandpiper juniors can connect with each other outside of community service. We do a lot of holiday themed cookie decorating as well as game nights and trivia! We also had a freshman vision board social, ice skating, and a hilarious embarrassing stories social complete with snacks . We end each year with the Starfish Banquet celebration.
